Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Digital Archivist with a strong focus on historical data to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the preservation, organization, and accessibility of Concentrix’s extensive historical digital assets. This includes a wide range of data types, from legacy documentation and project records to multimedia content and institutional memory. The ideal candidate will have a passion for history, a deep understanding of digital preservation best practices, and the technical skills to implement scalable archival solutions. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States, collaborating with a global team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital archiving strategies and policies for historical data.
  • Identify, appraise, select, acquire, and ingest digital records and assets into archival systems.
  • Process and organize historical digital data, including descriptive cataloging, indexing, and metadata creation according0 to established standards (e.g., Dublin Core, PREMIS).
  • Manage and maintain digital preservation systems and repositories, ensuring long-term accessibility and integrity of historical data.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality control checks on archived materials.
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, and various business units to ensure compliance with data governance, privacy regulations, and retention schedules.
  • Provide access to archived materials for authorized personnel, responding to research requests and managing access permissions.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and methodologies for digital preservation and archival management.
  • Create and maintain documentation for archival procedures and systems.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital archiving, data management, or library science, with a focus on historical data.
  • Strong understanding of digital preservation principles, standards, and best practices (e.g., OAIS, PREMIS).
  • Proficiency with digital asset management (DAM) systems and electronic records management (ERM) software.
  • Experience with metadata standards (e.g., Dublin Core, EAD, MODS).
  • Familiarity with various data formats and migration strategies for long-term preservation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, Information Science, or a related field.
  • Certification in Digital Archiving Specialist (DAS) or similar credentials.
  • Experience with cloud-based archival solutions.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data processing and automation.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property rights and copyright issues related to digital content.
