Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Distribution Center Hands to join our busy team in Liverpool. This vital role involves a variety of tasks within our state-of-the-art distribution facility, ensuring the smooth flow of goods from arrival to dispatch. You will be an integral part of our logistics operation, contributing to our commitment to efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position offers attractive penalty rates for unsociable hours and ample opportunities for overtime, significantly boosting your earning potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders and store replenishment items using handheld scanners or voice-picking systems.
- Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently, using appropriate equipment and following company procedures.
- Sort and stage products in designated areas, ensuring proper storage and easy retrieval.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, pump trucks) as required and after appropriate training.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets and operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items frequently and safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends, to accommodate penalty rates and overtime opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or pump trucks.
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems.
