Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Central Fill Pharmacy Technician to join our high-volume production facility in Fullerton, CA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently dispensing medications using automated dispensing systems, ensuring strict adherence to all quality and safety protocols. This position requires exceptional focus, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Your commitment to accuracy and efficiency will directly support our mission to provide timely and safe medication to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain automated dispensing equipment, including troubleshooting minor issues.
- Accurately fill prescription orders, verifying medication, dosage, and quantity.
- Perform quality checks on filled prescriptions to ensure accuracy before packaging and shipment.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all sterile compounding and safety standards.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other technicians to optimize workflow and resolve issues.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician license/registration in the state of California (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a high-volume or production setting
- Proficiency in operating automated dispensing equipment and pharmacy software systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification from PTCB or NHA
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with various types of pharmacy automation (e.g., ScriptPro, Parata)
- Previous experience in a central fill or mail-order pharmacy setting
