Job Description
Are you passionate about fitness and looking for a dynamic role that keeps you active? UPS is seeking dedicated Delivery Cyclists to join our team in Downtown San Diego. You will be responsible for delivering packages to customers using an e-bike or traditional bicycle, navigating urban environments safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company-provided bicycle (e-bike or traditional) to deliver packages to residences and businesses within assigned routes.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of packages, following all safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing UPS with a positive attitude.
- Manage delivery manifest and document deliveries using handheld scanning devices.
- Safely load and unload packages from the bicycle, ensuring packages are secured during transit.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bicycle, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Adhere to all UPS policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina, capable of cycling for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with Downtown San Diego streets and traffic patterns.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid state-issued driver's license or ID (for identification purposes).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in delivery or courier services.
- Experience riding e-bikes or cargo bicycles.
- Knowledge of UPS package handling procedures.
