Job Description

United Parcel Service (UPS) in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking dedicated and robust individuals to join our team as a Loading Bay Operative. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload packages from trailers, trucks, and conveyor belts, utilizing appropriate equipment when necessary.
- Sort and scan packages accurately according to destination and shipping instructions.
- Manually lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) frequently, and up to 150 lbs (68 kg) with assistance.
- Operate package handling equipment safely and responsibly (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the loading bay area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to consistently lift and move heavy packages (up to 70 lbs independently, 150 lbs with assistance).
- Physical stamina and endurance for standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment.
- Commitment to safety procedures and practices.
- Basic literacy skills to read labels and follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or physically demanding role.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
