Job Description
We are seeking a highly dedicated and compassionate Oncology Registered Nurse to join our specialized cancer care team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to provide immediate, high-quality care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) will be provided for eligible international candidates, facilitating a swift relocation and start. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing patient care, administering chemotherapy, providing education, and offering emotional support within our state-of-the-art oncology department. This is an on-site, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other anti-cancer treatments safely and efficiently, adhering to established protocols.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications, intervening appropriately and promptly.
- Educate patients and their families about cancer diagnoses, treatment plans, medication management, and symptom control.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Provide emotional support and resources to patients and families coping with cancer.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an oncology setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of chemotherapy administration and side effect management.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Oncology Nursing (e.g., CON(C)).
- Experience with specific oncology sub-specialties (e.g., hematology, radiation oncology).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
