Job Description
Are you a motivated 14-year-old looking for your first job experience? Harris Teeter in Winston-Salem is seeking enthusiastic and responsible teens to join our team as Grocery Baggers. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop customer service skills, and earn money after school hours. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, friendly, and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently bag groceries at checkout lanes, ensuring items are packed appropriately to prevent damage.
- Assist customers with carrying groceries to their vehicles, providing friendly and helpful service.
- Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and ensure they are readily available for customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and front of the store.
- Assist with light stocking or front-facing products as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers with a smile and positive attitude.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be 14 years of age or older and have a valid work permit (if required by state law).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role (e.g., volunteer work, school projects) is a plus but not required.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
