Job Description
Shell Ghana is looking for a dedicated and reliable Automated Car Wash Tunnel Cleaner to join our team for after-hours wet work. This critical role involves maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of our automated car wash tunnel during non-business hours. You will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is spotless, chemicals are properly managed, and the overall environment is ready for the next day’s operation. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina and a keen eye for detail, often performed in a wet environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of the car wash tunnel, including brushes, nozzles, walls, floors, and drainage systems, after operating hours.
- Inspect and maintain car wash equipment, reporting any malfunctions or necessary repairs to management.
- Monitor and replenish chemical levels (soaps, waxes, rinses) in designated dispensers, ensuring proper dilution ratios.
- Remove debris, waste, and sediment from the tunnel area and water recycling systems.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
- Ensure the car wash facility is clean, organized, and ready for daily operations.
- Conduct basic preventative maintenance tasks as instructed.
- Work independently and efficiently to complete cleaning tasks within allocated timeframes.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during after-hours shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods in a wet environment.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning, car wash operations, or a similar physical role.
- Familiarity with automated cleaning equipment.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the work site for after-hours shifts.
