Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Plastic Surgery Nurse to join our esteemed team at Coastal Plastic Surgery & MedSpa. This vital role involves providing comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care to patients undergoing a variety of plastic and reconstructive procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in plastic surgery or medical aesthetics, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. You will be responsible for patient education, assisting with minor procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring a seamless and supportive patient journey within our private boutique setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert pre-operative consultation, education, and support to plastic surgery patients.
- Assist the surgeon during minor in-office procedures and ensure sterile technique.
- Perform post-operative wound care, suture removal, and drain management.
- Educate patients on post-operative care, medication administration, and potential complications.
- Monitor patients during recovery and identify and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including photographs and treatment plans.
- Prepare examination rooms, surgical suites, and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patient inquiries and concerns, providing empathetic support.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, or medical aesthetics.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Proficiency in EMR systems and basic office software.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
- Demonstrated empathy and compassion for patients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience with cosmetic injectables (neurotoxins, fillers) and laser treatments.
- Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS) certification.
- Knowledge of advanced wound care techniques.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy best practices.
