Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Class A Day Cab Driver to join our Fort Worth team. This position is responsible for local deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods. You will operate modern equipment, adhere to all DOT regulations, and represent XPO Logistics with professionalism. This is a day-shift role with no overnight routes, allowing you to be home daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle safely and efficiently on local routes.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Transport goods to and from various destinations, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Load and unload freight as required, using appropriate equipment and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck cab.
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage immediately.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Proficient in operating manual and automatic transmissions
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull freight weighing up to 75 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • HazMat endorsement
  • Experience with various types of freight and delivery methods
  • Familiarity with local Fort Worth and surrounding area routes
