Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Houston Port Authority Aide with a Civilian Support focus to join our team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about contributing to the efficiency and security of port operations through administrative and support functions. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth communication, document management, and coordination between various stakeholders, supporting the broader goals of logistics and maritime operations. While the title reflects a focus relevant to port authority structures, this role will provide critical civilian support within our broader logistics framework, contributing to the seamless flow of goods and information.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the operations team, including scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of various documents, permits, and reports related to logistics and port interactions.
- Facilitate communication between internal departments, external agencies, and stakeholders, ensuring timely information exchange.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for operational data and compliance records.
- Support the coordination of civilian support initiatives and community engagement programs as directed.
- Monitor and track key operational metrics and assist in data entry and basic analysis.
- Respond to inquiries and provide assistance to internal and external partners, directing complex issues to appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines relevant to logistics and maritime operations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a logistics, transportation, or government setting.
- Familiarity with maritime operations or port procedures.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Haitian Creole) are a plus due to Florida's diverse population.
