Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate UPS Tour Bus Driver with a focus on National Parks to join our dedicated team in Austin, TX. In this unique role, you will be responsible for safely transporting groups of tourists on unforgettable journeys to various National Parks across the country, potentially in partnership with UPS’s logistics for specialized tours. This position demands exceptional driving skills, a strong commitment to passenger safety, excellent customer service, and a genuine appreciation for America’s natural wonders. You will be the face of our company, ensuring a smooth, enjoyable, and educational experience for all passengers while adhering to strict schedules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tour bus for extended periods, covering long distances to and from National Parks.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage and ensure their comfort throughout the journey.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering passenger questions and addressing concerns professionally.
- Manage tour itineraries and schedules effectively, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Possess basic knowledge of the National Parks on the itinerary, including history, geology, and wildlife, to enhance the passenger experience.
- Handle unexpected situations or emergencies calmly and efficiently, prioritizing passenger safety.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and passenger manifests.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial bus driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and extended tours.
- Geographical familiarity with major US highways and National Parks regions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving tour buses or motorcoaches.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of bus components.
- Knowledge of specific National Parks and popular tour routes.
- Multilingual abilities.
