Job Description
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Smart Home Sound Classifier to join our innovative Internet of Things (IoT) team. In this role, you will be crucial in developing and refining the auditory intelligence of our next-generation smart home devices. You will work with diverse sound data, classify audio events, and contribute to machine learning models that enable our devices to understand and respond intelligently to their environment. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately classify and label large datasets of audio events relevant to smart home environments (e.g., speech, ambient noise, specific device sounds).
- Develop and maintain robust sound classification models and algorithms for real-time IoT device application.
- Collaborate closely with machine learning engineers, data scientists, and product managers to define sound event taxonomies and classification strategies.
- Perform quality assurance on classified data and provide feedback for continuous improvement of data annotation processes.
- Analyze audio patterns and identify emerging trends or anomalies that could impact device performance.
- Contribute to the design and execution of experiments to test and validate sound classification accuracy.
- Document methodologies, processes, and results in a clear and concise manner.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in audio data analysis, annotation, or classification.
- Solid understanding of acoustic principles and sound processing techniques.
- Familiarity with IoT ecosystems and smart home device functionalities.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts, particularly in audio processing (e.g., feature extraction, model training).
- Proficiency in using audio editing and analysis software (e.g., Audacity, Praat, MATLAB/Python libraries).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services (e.g., S3, SageMaker).
