Job Description
Are you looking for a dynamic part-time role that keeps you active and engaged? Delta Air Lines at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is seeking dedicated individuals for our Weekend Airport Hand position. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our ground services during high-traffic periods. You will be an integral part of our team, handling baggage, guiding aircraft, and supporting various ground operations. This is an on-site position, perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are available for weekend shifts. Enjoy weekly pay and the excitement of working at the heart of air travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload luggage, cargo, and mail onto and off aircraft.
- Operate ground support equipment (e.g., tugs, belt loaders, pushback tractors) after proper training and certification.
- Marshal aircraft to and from gates, providing visual signals to flight crews.
- Position portable stairs, jetways, and other equipment for passenger boarding and deplaning.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the ramp and around the aircraft.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and airport security procedures.
- Assist with aircraft pushback procedures, ensuring clear communication with flight deck and ground control.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient airport operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 70 lbs) frequently.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, regardless of weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work.
- Prior experience in an airport or aviation environment.
- Familiarity with ground support equipment operation.
- Flexible availability to cover additional shifts as needed.
