Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Pipeline Operator to join our team within the Houston Metro Area, specifically supporting our operations under a stable government contract. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our pipeline systems. The Pipeline Operator will be responsible for monitoring pipeline performance, conducting routine inspections, performing maintenance tasks, and responding to operational issues. This is an on-site position requiring practical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor pipeline flow, pressure, and temperature using SCADA systems and other control equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of pipeline right-of-ways, facilities, and equipment for leaks, damage, or potential hazards.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pipeline components, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and operational disruptions, following established safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of pipeline operations, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, federal regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with other operators, technicians, and supervisory personnel to optimize pipeline performance and resolve issues.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pipeline operations, oil and gas, or a related industrial field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs
  • Proficiency with SCADA systems and other control technologies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., Instrumentation, Process Technology, Mechanical Engineering)
  • Experience working with high-pressure systems and hazardous materials
  • Familiarity with DOT pipeline safety regulations (e.g., CFR Part 192, 195)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • First Aid and CPR certification
