Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Avionics Technician to join our dynamic team in San Diego, CA. Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex avionics systems on unmanned aircraft.
- Install, modify, and test aircraft wiring, electrical components, and integrated systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Utilize various test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers, to diagnose system malfunctions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations, company standards, and safety procedures.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and comprehensively.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve technical issues and improve system reliability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Associate's degree in Avionics Technology, Aviation Maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent military experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Avionics Technician in an aviation maintenance environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing aircraft electrical and electronic systems.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Demonstrated ability to use various hand tools, power tools, and specialized test equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
- Experience with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
- Familiarity with specific avionics systems used in military or commercial aviation (e.g., navigation, communication, flight control).
- Experience with soldering and crimping techniques.
- Knowledge of advanced diagnostic software.
