Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Logistics & Distribution Head to lead our operations in Kansas City, MO. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of logistics, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring optimal efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives, managing a team, and driving continuous improvement across our supply chain network. This position requires a visionary leader with a strong background in logistics and a proven ability to manage complex operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute logistics and distribution strategies aligned with company goals and market demands.
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving.
- Manage and optimize transportation networks, negotiating contracts with carriers and ensuring timely delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain operations.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, forecasting expenditures, and optimizing resource allocation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a senior logistics or distribution management role.
- Deep understanding of supply chain principles, warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing talent.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency in logistics software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with the Kansas City logistics market and regional transportation networks.
