Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Stable Cleaner to join our morning shift team. This vital role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our stables, directly contributing to the health and comfort of our horses. If you are an early riser, possess a strong work ethic, and have a genuine love for horses, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a beautiful, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily mucking and cleaning of horse stalls, ensuring a fresh and sanitary environment.
- Replenish bedding in stalls, maintaining appropriate levels for horse comfort.
- Clean and disinfect water troughs and feed buckets regularly.
- Sweep and maintain cleanliness of barn aisles, feed rooms, and storage areas.
- Organize and store stable equipment neatly and safely.
- Monitor horses for any immediate signs of distress or unusual behavior and report findings to barn management.
- Assist with manure disposal, including operating a wheelbarrow and potentially light machinery.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and animal care guidelines established by the center.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting, bending, and pushing.
- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine love and respect for horses and other animals.
- Excellent time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an equestrian facility or with large animals.
- Basic understanding of horse behavior and stable routines.
- Experience operating small farm equipment (e.g., UTV, small tractor for manure hauling).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (animal or human).
