Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and efficient Ceiling Paint Helper for a fast-paced, small-area painting gig. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, have a strong work ethic, and can quickly adapt to various project demands. You will be instrumental in preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring a high-quality finish on ceiling projects within tight deadlines. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina and a commitment to safety and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, patching, and sanding ceilings in small, confined areas.
- Mask off areas not to be painted to protect surrounding surfaces and fixtures.
- Apply paint to ceilings using brushes, rollers, and other tools as required, ensuring even coverage and a smooth finish.
- Mix and match paint colors as instructed, maintaining accurate records of paint usage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of waste materials properly.
- Inspect finished surfaces for imperfections and perform touch-ups as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist lead painters with other tasks as required to complete projects efficiently.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of painting techniques and tools.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, stoop, and reach overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites within Baltimore.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months of experience in painting or construction support roles.
- Familiarity with various types of paint and application methods.
- Experience working at heights (e.g., using ladders or scaffolding safely).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
