Job Description
Join the McCain Foods team in Gander as an Entry-Level Factory Production Worker! This vital role contributes directly to the production of our high-quality food products. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks on the production line, ensuring efficiency, safety, and product quality. This position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, to support our continuous operation. We are looking for motivated individuals with a strong work ethic who are eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. No prior experience is necessary, as we provide comprehensive training.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate basic machinery and equipment on the production line under supervision.
- Monitor product quality and identify any defects or inconsistencies.
- Package finished products according to specifications.
- Perform general clean-up duties to maintain a safe and sanitary work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and food hygiene standards.
- Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading products and materials.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (even non-food related).
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Basic understanding of food safety principles.
