Job Description
Are you a professional CDL A driver looking for stability, excellent pay, and top-of-the-line equipment? Schneider is hiring Over-the-Road (OTR) Drivers in the Shawnee area. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination across various states, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport goods efficiently and on schedule, ensuring timely delivery to destinations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and submit all required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, when required.
- Represent Schneider professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job (lifting, bending, climbing)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dry van or refrigerated freight
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management software
- Hazardous materials (HazMat) endorsement
