Job Description

Are you a professional CDL A driver looking for stability, excellent pay, and top-of-the-line equipment? Schneider is hiring Over-the-Road (OTR) Drivers in the Shawnee area. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination across various states, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Transport goods efficiently and on schedule, ensuring timely delivery to destinations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any defects or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs and submit all required paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, when required.
  • Represent Schneider professionally at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience
  • Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job (lifting, bending, climbing)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with dry van or refrigerated freight
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management software
  • Hazardous materials (HazMat) endorsement
