Job Description
Are you a 14-year-old who loves animals and is looking for your first job experience in a fun and supportive environment? PetSmart in Wichita is seeking enthusiastic and responsible teens to join our Doggie Day Camp team as a Dog Daycare Aide. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop new skills, and spend your time surrounded by adorable dogs. You’ll assist with daily operations, ensuring the safety and happiness of all our furry guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with supervising dogs during playtime and activities in Doggie Day Camp.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment by cleaning play areas, kennels, and common spaces.
- Provide fresh water and assist with feeding dogs as directed.
- Engage with dogs through play and positive reinforcement.
- Observe dog behavior and report any concerns or issues to senior staff.
- Assist with welcoming pet parents and their dogs during drop-off and pick-up.
- Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines for pet care.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and compassion for dogs and animals.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Strong communication skills with staff and pet parents.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eagerness to learn about dog behavior and animal care.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working in an environment with various dog breeds and sizes.
