Job Description
Join the Hyatt Regency Miami team as a Lifeguard this summer! We are seeking energetic and certified 16-year-olds to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests at the hotel’s pool facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional hospitality setting, earn competitive summer pay, and contribute to a vibrant guest experience. You will be responsible for vigilant supervision, enforcing safety rules, and providing assistance when needed, all while maintaining a welcoming and friendly demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance of pool area and patrons.
- Enforce all pool rules and regulations firmly and courteously.
- Respond to emergencies swiftly and effectively, performing rescues and administering first aid/CPR as necessary.
- Ensure the pool area is clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Educate guests on safety procedures and provide excellent customer service.
- Complete incident reports accurately and promptly.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the pool facility.
Required Skills
- Current Lifeguard Certification (e.g., American Red Cross Lifeguarding or equivalent).
- Current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certifications.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Strong swimming abilities and physical fitness.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a lifeguard is a plus, but not required for certified individuals.
- Customer service experience in a hospitality environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor.
