Job Description
Steelcase is looking for enthusiastic and reliable 17-year-old teens to join our production team as a Production Hand. This is an excellent opportunity for young individuals to gain valuable work experience in a clean, safe, and organized factory environment. As a Production Hand, you will play a crucial role in supporting various stages of our furniture manufacturing process, ensuring our products meet Steelcase’s renowned quality standards. We offer on-the-job training and a supportive team to help you learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the assembly and packaging of furniture components and finished products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the factory.
- Inspect products for quality defects and report any issues to supervisors.
- Operate basic production machinery and tools under supervision, following all safety guidelines.
- Move materials and finished products within the production area, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Must be 17 years of age.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- No prior experience required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
- Experience participating in school projects or volunteer activities that required teamwork or following instructions.
