Job Description
Join Kids Planet Day Nurseries as an After-School Club Leader in our vibrant Stockport location! This is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic individuals, including students, looking to gain valuable experience in childcare within a supportive and fun environment. We are looking for someone passionate about providing engaging activities and ensuring the safety and well-being of children after school hours.
As an After-School Club Leader, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and stimulating atmosphere for children aged 4-11. You will be responsible for planning and leading a variety of recreational and educational activities, supervising children during their stay, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This part-time role offers flexible hours, making it ideal for those balancing studies or other commitments, and provides excellent opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead engaging and age-appropriate activities (e.g., arts and crafts, sports, games, homework support).
- Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and welfare.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and fun atmosphere for all club members.
- Manage behaviour effectively, promoting respect and cooperation.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's day and any relevant information.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safeguarding guidelines.
- Ensure the club environment is tidy, safe, and stimulating.
Required Skills
- A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for planning and leading activities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Willingness to learn and undertake training, including First Aid.
- Experience caring for or working with children, whether formal (e.g., volunteering, youth groups) or informal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Playwork.
- Current Paediatric First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in an after-school club, nursery, school, or similar childcare setting.
