Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audio Systems Designer with a strong focus on AV Integration to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for designing cutting-edge audio solutions for complex commercial and enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in audio signal flow, acoustics, digital signal processing (DSP), network audio protocols (e.g., Dante, AVB), and comprehensive AV system design principles. You will be responsible for translating client requirements into detailed technical designs, ensuring seamless integration with video, control, and IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of complex audio systems for corporate, education, government, and healthcare clients.
- Develop detailed system schematics, architectural drawings, rack elevations, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD or other relevant design software.
- Perform acoustic modeling and analysis to ensure optimal audio performance in various environments.
- Select and specify appropriate audio equipment, including microphones, loudspeakers, amplifiers, DSPs, and network audio devices.
- Collaborate with sales, project managers, and installation teams to ensure design integrity and successful project execution.
- Conduct site surveys, assess existing infrastructure, and identify potential design challenges or opportunities.
- Stay abreast of emerging audio technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Generate comprehensive bill of materials (BOM) and cost estimates for proposed designs.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in AV system design with a strong focus on audio.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD software for technical drawing creation.
- Expertise in audio signal processing (DSP) and programming (e.g., QSC Q-SYS, Biamp Tesira).
- Strong understanding of network audio protocols (Dante, AES67, AVB).
- Knowledge of acoustic principles and room modeling software.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices (e.g., AVIXA CTS-D).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- AVIXA CTS-D or CTS-I certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with video conferencing technologies and unified communications platforms.
- Familiarity with IT networking fundamentals relevant to AV systems.
- Experience in commissioning and tuning audio systems.
