Job Description
Commerce Bank is seeking a meticulous and experienced Banking Compliance Auditor to join our team in Olathe, KS. In this secure professional environment, you will play a critical role in evaluating the effectiveness of our compliance programs, identifying potential risks, and ensuring that our operations align with all relevant regulatory guidelines and internal policies. This is an on-site position vital to maintaining trust and stability within our financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive compliance audits of various banking operations, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, CRA, TILA, RESPA, GDPR).
- Identify and assess potential compliance risks, control deficiencies, and areas for improvement within the bank's operational framework.
- Develop detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and action plans for remediation.
- Present audit findings to management and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of compliance issues.
- Collaborate with business units to provide guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices for compliance.
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions resulting from audit findings.
- Stay current with changes in banking laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure continuous compliance.
- Participate in special projects or investigations as required to support the bank's compliance objectives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in banking compliance, internal audit, or risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, including but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC, CRA, TILA, RESPA, and privacy laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing clear, concise reports and presenting complex information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, secure environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and audit management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)).
- Experience with specific regulatory bodies and their examination processes.
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
