Job Description
Join XPO Logistics as a Bulk Warehouse Associate with a focus on heavy industrial materials. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, storage, and movement of large and heavy goods within our Irvine distribution center. This involves operating various material handling equipment, ensuring accurate inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Your dedication to safety and efficiency will be key to supporting our industrial clients and ensuring timely delivery of essential components.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, to move and stack bulk industrial products.
- Load and unload large shipments from trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques for heavy items.
- Perform accurate inventory counts and maintain detailed records of incoming and outgoing materials using our warehouse management system.
- Prepare and stage orders for shipment, adhering to strict quality and safety standards for heavy loads.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and achieve daily operational goals.
- Identify and report discrepancies in inventory or product damage.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy material handling equipment (e.g., sit-down/stand-up forklifts, reach trucks).
- Proven ability to lift and move heavy objects safely, up to 75 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
- Basic computer proficiency for warehouse management systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or construction-related warehouse setting.
- Certification in forklift operation.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and modern warehouse technology.
