Job Description

Ryder System Inc. is seeking an experienced and professional Executive Sprinter Driver to manage group logistics transportation. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and comfortable transport of our executives and key personnel for various business engagements, conferences, and inter-office travel within the Pasco County and greater Tampa Bay area. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional driving skills, a strong commitment to punctuality, discretion, and a profound understanding of group transportation dynamics and route optimization. This position requires a high degree of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to potential logistical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a Sprinter van or similar executive transport vehicle safely and professionally.
  • Provide reliable and timely transportation for groups of executives and staff to various destinations.
  • Plan and optimize routes to ensure efficient travel, considering traffic patterns, road conditions, and special requests.
  • Maintain the vehicle in pristine condition, conducting regular pre-trip and post-trip inspections and coordinating scheduled maintenance and cleaning.
  • Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety protocols, prioritizing passenger safety.
  • Manage passenger needs with courtesy, discretion, and a consistent focus on comfort and a positive experience.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and fuel consumption reports for proper accounting and fleet management.
  • Assist with loading and unloading luggage or equipment as required, ensuring secure transport.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class E (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving record and no major violations.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in executive or group transport.
  • Proficiency with GPS and navigation systems to optimize routes and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Excellent knowledge of local geography and road networks in the Tampa Bay area, including alternate routes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with executives and colleagues.
  • Impeccable punctuality and time management abilities to adhere to strict schedules.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding passenger conversations and destinations.
  • Physical ability to assist with luggage and perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Sprinter vans or similar luxury passenger vehicles.
  • Defensive driving certification or advanced driver training.
  • Familiarity with corporate logistics and scheduling software.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, as business needs dictate.
  • Experience in a customer service-oriented driving role.
