Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious FedEx Certified Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team in Wichita, KS. This is an immediate opening for a full-time position offering competitive benefits. As a crucial part of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, stacking, and loading materials using various types of forklifts, primarily handling FedEx freight. Your expertise will ensure the smooth flow of goods within our warehouse and during shipping and receiving processes, contributing directly to our operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Load and unload materials from trailers and containers, ensuring proper handling and placement of freight, especially FedEx packages.
- Transport products, equipment, and materials to and from designated areas in the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation safety checks on forklifts and report any defects or malfunctions.
- Scan and track inventory using warehouse management systems, maintaining accurate records.
- Assist with inventory counts and organization of the warehouse floor.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Valid FedEx Forklift Certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse work.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in handling freight.
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with FedEx shipping and receiving procedures.
