Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and highly accurate Inventory Hand to join our FedEx Ground team in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and flow of our inventory, ensuring that all packages are accounted for and processed correctly within our fast-paced distribution center environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for precise inventory counts, data entry, and resolving discrepancies, often working various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate cycle counts and physical inventories of packages and materials.
  • Utilize scanners and computer systems to track inventory movement and update records.
  • Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies, reporting findings to supervisors.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, after certification) safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize inventory processes and achieve operational goals.
  • Prepare and organize inventory for shipping and receiving operations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proven ability to perform tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory control environment.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift).
  • Familiarity with inventory management software or scanning systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
