Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Industrial Maintenance Associate with a strong focus on conveyor systems to join our team in Vallejo, CA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various industrial equipment, with a particular emphasis on complex automated conveyor systems. Your expertise will ensure the continuous and efficient operation of our package handling facilities, playing a direct role in our ability to meet delivery commitments. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on conveyor systems, sortation equipment, and other material handling machinery according to established schedules.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on industrial equipment, specializing in conveyor belt systems, motors, gearboxes, and controls.
- Execute repairs and replacements of defective parts, including belts, rollers, bearings, motors, sensors, and electrical components.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions before breakdowns occur.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs and understand system operations.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on conveyor systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance techniques and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Familiarity with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
