Job Description
J.B. Hunt is seeking motivated and experienced Fleet Owner Partners to join our dedicated freight network, offering consistent routes and reliable earnings. As a partner, you will operate your own fleet, leveraging our extensive network and advanced technology to maximize your business potential. This unique opportunity focuses on long-term dedicated freight contracts, ensuring stability and predictability for your operation. While your fleet will be on the road, your primary interaction and operational support with J.B. Hunt will be facilitated remotely, allowing you greater flexibility in managing your business from your preferred location. We provide the freight, the technology, and the support; you bring the entrepreneurial drive and commitment to safe, timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and operate a fleet of commercial trucks and drivers in accordance with DOT regulations and J.B. Hunt standards.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of dedicated freight along established routes.
- Maintain high standards of equipment maintenance and operational efficiency.
- Recruit, train, and retain qualified drivers for your fleet.
- Utilize J.B. Hunt's technology platform for dispatch, tracking, and communication.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and compliance requirements.
- Effectively communicate with J.B. Hunt support teams remotely to resolve operational issues.
- Manage business finances, including driver pay, fuel, and maintenance costs.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in commercial truck driving or fleet management.
- Proven ability to manage business operations effectively.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety compliance.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Access to or ability to acquire reliable commercial vehicles (e.g., Class 8 trucks).
- Valid CDL (for any owner-operators who also drive).
- Strong financial management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dedicated freight operations.
- Existing fleet of 2+ trucks.
- Proficiency with transportation management software.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive for growth.
