Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Food Service Delivery Driver to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering a wide range of food and related products to our valued customers. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle (Class A or B) to transport and deliver food and related products to customer locations.
- Execute multiple deliveries daily along an assigned route, ensuring products arrive on time and in excellent condition.
- Load and unload product cases, often requiring the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items (up to 75 lbs regularly).
- Verify product counts against invoices, collect payments, and process returns as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, representing Sysco professionally at every stop.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards, including pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding delivery status or any issues.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of the delivery vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds and handle heavy loads using appropriate equipment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage a demanding delivery schedule.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills.
- Basic math proficiency for verifying orders and handling transactions.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen.
- Proven ability to work independently and navigate efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) as a delivery driver, especially in the food service or logistics industry.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Familiarity with local routes and geographical areas within Pasco County and surrounding regions.
- Forklift certification or experience operating a pallet jack.
