Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Inquiry Evaluator with a strong focus on legal technology to join our remote team. In this role, you will play a critical part in assessing and responding to legal inquiries related to Google’s products and services. You will analyze complex legal documents, apply internal policies, and utilize legal tech tools to ensure accurate and timely processing of requests. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining legal compliance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate legal inquiries, including subpoenas, court orders, and government requests, to determine scope and validity.
- Utilize legal technology platforms and internal tools to research, process, and track legal requests.
- Interpret and apply relevant legal statutes, regulations, and Google's internal policies.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and cross-functional teams to escalate complex issues or clarify requirements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inquiries and actions taken.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of legal inquiry processes and tools.
- Ensure all responses are timely, accurate, and compliant with legal and company standards.
- Identify trends and potential areas for policy or process improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and comfortable with new technologies, especially legal tech platforms.
- Ability to interpret complex legal documents and apply established guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a legal, compliance, or information governance role.
- Familiarity with various legal request types (e.g., subpoenas, warrants, preservation orders).
- Knowledge of global data protection laws and privacy regulations.
- Experience with case management software or other legal tech solutions.
- Prior experience working in a large, global organization.
- Fluency in a second language relevant to Google's global user base.
