Job Description

YouTube LLC is seeking a Junior Video Editor to join our dynamic content creation team in Kailua, HI. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting compelling video shorts and reels for various Google-affiliated channels and campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring editor to develop their skills, work with cutting-edge tools, and contribute to content that reaches a global audience on the YouTube platform. We are looking for someone eager to learn, adapt, and bring fresh ideas to our video projects, specifically focusing on maximizing engagement within short-form video formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and assemble raw footage into polished video shorts and reels optimized for YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
- Collaborate with content strategists, producers, and marketing teams to understand project requirements and creative briefs.
- Add graphics, music, voiceovers, and other elements to enhance video quality and engagement.
- Ensure all video content adheres to brand guidelines, legal requirements, and best practices for short-form video.
- Manage and organize media assets, maintaining a well-structured archive of footage and project files.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in video editing techniques, social media algorithms, and short-form content creation.
- Provide creative input and suggestions during brainstorming sessions to improve video concepts.
- Perform quality control checks on all exported videos to ensure high standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing software.
- Basic understanding of video codecs, formats, and compression techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging short-form video content (e.g., YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikToks).
- Strong storytelling abilities and an eye for visual composition.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their content requirements.
- Portfolio showcasing relevant video editing projects (even if personal projects).
Preferred Qualifications
