Job Description

Are you passionate about helping children learn and grow? Goldfish Swim School in Irving, TX is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Swim Instructor Assistant to join our dedicated team for weekend shifts. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who love working with children, are comfortable in the water, and want to make a positive impact. As an Assistant, you’ll support our certified instructors, ensure a safe and engaging environment, and help foster a love for swimming in our students. We offer a high hourly rate and a supportive, fun work culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead swim instructors with lessons, ensuring children are engaged and safe in the water.
  • Help set up and break down pool equipment before and after classes.
  • Provide positive encouragement and support to students as they learn new skills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pool deck and surrounding areas.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with parents and guardians.
  • Learn and uphold Goldfish Swim School's safety protocols and teaching methodologies.
  • Potentially lead warm-up exercises or assist with specific drills under direct supervision.
  • Participate in ongoing training and team meetings.

Required Skills

  • Comfortable in and around water.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and parents.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to commit to weekend schedules.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and patient demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children (e.g., babysitting, camp counselor, childcare).
  • Basic knowledge of swimming strokes and techniques.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
