Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Industrial Degreaser to join our maintenance team in a high-tech factory environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and optimal functioning of industrial machinery and surfaces by effectively removing grease, grime, and other contaminants. This role is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency, extending equipment lifespan, and upholding safety standards within our advanced manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough degreasing and cleaning of heavy industrial machinery, equipment, and production lines using specialized cleaning agents and tools.
- Operate and maintain high-pressure washing equipment, industrial vacuums, and other cleaning apparatus.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and the proper handling and disposal of chemicals.
- Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or buildup and report findings to supervisors.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to schedule cleaning tasks efficiently, minimizing disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Participate in ongoing training for new cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to safely handle and apply industrial cleaning chemicals and degreasers.
- Proficiency in operating cleaning equipment such as pressure washers and industrial vacuums.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial setting.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and maintaining cleaning equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning, manufacturing, or a similar heavy industry environment.
- Certification in WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
- Experience with confined space entry procedures (if applicable).
- Forklift operator certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
