Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Aide to join our team in Elk Grove, CA. This is an entry-level, full-time position offering comprehensive benefits and 401k matching. The Laboratory Aide will provide essential support to our laboratory operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of samples and maintenance of laboratory environments. No prior laboratory experience is required; we are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, possess strong organizational skills, and are committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety. This role is crucial in supporting our healthcare professionals and ultimately contributing to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, label, and process patient samples (e.g., blood, urine, tissues) according to established protocols.
- Prepare samples for testing, including centrifugation and aliquoting.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and work areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Stock and organize laboratory supplies, monitoring inventory levels and assisting with ordering.
- Dispose of biohazardous waste safely and according to regulations.
- Transport samples and supplies between departments as needed.
- Perform routine quality control checks on equipment and processes.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and institutional policies.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
