Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Legal Transcription Specialist to join our dynamic team in Riverside, CA. This pivotal role involves providing essential transcription support to our attorneys and legal professionals, ensuring the accurate and timely conversion of audio recordings into written legal documents. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional listening skills, an in-depth understanding of legal terminology, and a meticulous eye for detail. Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe a wide variety of legal documents, including depositions, court proceedings, client interviews, dictations, and general correspondence.
  • Ensure accuracy, proper grammar, punctuation, and formatting in all transcribed materials.
  • Manage and prioritize transcription tasks to meet strict deadlines.
  • Review and proofread transcribed documents for errors and completeness.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive legal information.
  • Utilize transcription software and other office equipment efficiently.
  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys and support staff to clarify unclear audio or instructions.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in legal transcription or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 70 WPM).
  • High level of attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency with transcription software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Legal Administration, or related field.
  • Certification in legal transcription.
  • Experience working within a law firm or legal department.
