Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Local CDL-A Driver to join our team in Millcreek, UT. This is an exciting opportunity for a Class A CDL holder who wants to be home daily and enjoy a consistent schedule. You’ll be responsible for safe and timely transportation of goods within a local radius, primarily performing live unloads and managing freight according to company standards. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle (tractor-trailer) according to all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and trailer, documenting any defects.
- Transport freight efficiently and safely to designated locations within the local area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including hours of service (HOS) regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight as required, using equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while providing excellent customer service.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum 12 months of verifiable Class A driving experience (or completion of an approved driving school program)
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight weighing up to 75 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with various types of freight, including dry van or flatbed
- Familiarity with local delivery routes in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
