Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Marina Support Hand to join our team, based out of our Guelph office but supporting our broader ‘coastal’ (Great Lakes/inland waterways) operations. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with a passion for marine environments, outdoor work, and providing excellent service. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of our marina facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our customers and their vessels. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina and a willingness to learn all aspects of marina operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the docking and un-docking of boats, providing guidance and support to boaters.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of marina facilities, docks, and common areas.
- Operate and maintain marina equipment, including golf carts, small boats, and pressure washers.
- Monitor fuel docks, assist with fueling operations, and manage inventory.
- Provide basic customer service, answer inquiries, and assist with general marina needs.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or customer feedback to management promptly.
- Support seasonal launch and haul-out activities, including boat preparation and storage.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment, including various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a marina, boatyard, or similar outdoor service role.
- Boating safety certification (e.g., PCOC).
- Experience operating small boats or marine equipment.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of basic boat maintenance or repair.
