Job Description

Are you ready for a hands-on role that gets you out in the fresh air, working with a fantastic team? Clearspan Events UK is seeking enthusiastic and physically fit individuals to join our team as Marquee Rigger Assistants. This is an exciting opportunity to learn the ropes of event infrastructure, contributing directly to the success of diverse events across North Yorkshire and beyond. No prior experience is necessary – we’ll provide comprehensive training for the right candidates who possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a desire to work in an active, outdoor environment. This role involves significant manual handling, working at heights, and operating various tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and transportation of marquee equipment.
  • Working as part of a team to erect and dismantle various temporary structures, including marquees, flooring, and interior fittings.
  • Following strict health and safety guidelines and company procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment and work sites.
  • Learning and mastering new skills related to marquee construction and event setup.
  • Working effectively in various weather conditions, adapting to changing site requirements.
  • Performing general labouring duties as required to support event setup and breakdown.

Required Skills

  • Excellent physical fitness and stamina, capable of lifting heavy objects and prolonged standing/walking.
  • Ability to work effectively and safely outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Commitment to health and safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving License (Category B or B+E desirable but not essential).
  • Previous experience in construction, labouring, or outdoor work.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
  • Forklift license or experience (desirable but not essential).
