Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team at AdventHealth Zephyrhills. This vital role supports our medical staff by managing administrative tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations, and providing exceptional service to our patients. Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and registration processes efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle incoming calls, inquiries, and correspondence with professionalism and empathy.
- Process patient billing, insurance claims, and payment collections.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and facilitate necessary follow-up care.
- Prepare and organize medical charts, reports, and other documentation.
- Assist with office supply inventory and ordering to ensure adequate stock.
- Support physicians and other healthcare professionals with administrative tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment.
- Adhere to all AdventHealth policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in medical office software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Medical Office Administration or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA).
- Experience with AdventHealth's specific EHR system (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorization processes.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
