Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Milk Run Assistant to join our logistics team in Toxteth, Liverpool. This full-time role involves early morning shifts, ensuring the timely collection and delivery of dairy products from farms to processing plants, or from plants to distribution centres/retailers. You will be a vital link in our supply chain, ensuring the freshness and quality of our products. This position offers stable hours and a steady income for individuals who thrive in a consistent, early-start environment. Full training will be provided, but a commitment to punctuality and safe practices is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned 'milk run' routes efficiently and punctually each morning.
  • Safely load and unload dairy products, ensuring correct handling and temperature control.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork.
  • Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, farmers, and plant personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle.
  • Troubleshoot minor delivery issues and adapt to schedule changes as needed.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK driving license (Category B minimum, C1 preferred)
  • Ability to work early morning shifts consistently
  • Strong sense of punctuality and reliability
  • Good physical stamina, capable of lifting and moving dairy crates
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to protocols

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a delivery or logistics role
  • Familiarity with local Liverpool and Merseyside road networks
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle checks
  • Experience with temperature-controlled transportation
