Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mobile Clinic Driver to join our Healthcare Outreach team. This hybrid role involves safely operating and maintaining our mobile healthcare clinic, transporting medical staff and equipment to various community locations, and assisting with on-site clinic operations. While the primary function of driving and clinic support is on-site, some administrative and logistical planning tasks may be performed remotely, aligning with our ‘WFH Hybrid’ model. You will play a crucial role in delivering essential healthcare services directly to the communities that need them most, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain the mobile healthcare clinic vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Transport medical personnel, equipment, and supplies to designated outreach locations on schedule.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Assist medical staff with the setup and teardown of the mobile clinic at various sites, including deploying awnings, leveling the vehicle, and connecting utilities.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logs, mileage records, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of the mobile clinic interior and exterior.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and community members visiting the clinic.
- Manage and organize vehicle inventory, ensuring necessary supplies are stocked and readily available.
- Assist with patient flow and provide non-medical support as directed by clinic staff.
- Participate in remote team meetings and complete administrative tasks as needed (WFH component).
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (CDL not required but a plus for larger vehicles).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably with larger vehicles (e.g., vans, RVs).
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver a large commercial vehicle in various weather conditions and environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in using navigation systems and mapping applications.
- Commitment to punctuality, reliability, and adherence to schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare or community outreach setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience driving specialized vehicles or mobile units.
- Knowledge of Burlington and surrounding Vermont communities.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish or Nepali) is a plus.
