Job Description
Are you passionate about creating functional and beautiful living spaces? IKEA Canada is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Modular Shelving Pro to join our dynamic team in Downtown Edmonton. In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in assembling, installing, and customizing IKEA’s innovative modular shelving systems for our customers, both in-store displays and in their homes. You will provide expert advice, ensuring optimal space utilization and customer satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, has an eye for detail, and loves bringing design ideas to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assemble and install various modular shelving units and storage solutions according to IKEA standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct on-site consultations to assess customer needs and provide expert recommendations for shelving configurations.
- Ensure all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain an organized workspace and ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Provide clear and helpful guidance to customers on product features, assembly, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during assembly or installation with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales and design teams to ensure seamless customer experience from planning to installation.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in furniture assembly or carpentry, particularly with modular systems.
- Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent spatial reasoning and ability to read and interpret assembly instructions/schematics.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects regularly.
- Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for potential on-site customer visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with IKEA products or similar modular furniture systems.
- Certification in carpentry or a related trade.
- Customer service experience in a retail or home improvement setting.
- Ability to speak French is an asset.
