Job Description
Are you looking for an immediate start with weekly pay and no prior experience required? Pickfords in Basildon is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Movers / General Labourers to join our thriving team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are physically fit, have a strong work ethic, and are eager to learn the ropes of the moving and logistics industry. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers’ belongings are handled with care and transported safely. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal entry-level position for anyone ready to start a rewarding career.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pack, load, and unload furniture and household goods onto removal vehicles.
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture as required, following company guidelines.
- Wrap and protect items to prevent damage during transit.
- Assist with general labour tasks in the warehouse or at client sites.
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete removals efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers at all times.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items repeatedly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills.
- No prior experience required – full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid UK driving license (Category B or higher) would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Familiarity with local Basildon and Essex areas.
