Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Night Guest Service Assistant to join our esteemed team at Hilton Watford. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests during the overnight hours. You will be responsible for managing all front desk operations, handling guest inquiries, completing administrative tasks, and ensuring a seamless experience from check-in to check-out. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a calm demeanor, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This position operates on a rotating 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, with 12-hour shifts, providing an excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage front desk operations, including check-ins, check-outs, and room assignments during the night.
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Process payments, maintain accurate guest accounts, and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Perform night audit procedures, balancing daily accounts and preparing reports.
- Ensure the security of the hotel and its guests by monitoring surveillance systems and conducting regular patrols.
- Handle emergency situations and liaise with relevant authorities if necessary.
- Assist guests with luggage and other needs as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
- Prepare wake-up calls and deliver newspapers or special requests to guest rooms.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night shifts.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in using hotel management software (e.g., Opera PMS).
- Excellent attention to detail for handling transactions and audit procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel front office or guest service role, particularly night audit.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local attractions and services in Watford and Hertfordshire.
- Fluency in additional languages.
