Job Description
Are you deeply immersed in youth culture and possess an uncanny ability to spot emerging trends? NielsenIQ is seeking an enthusiastic and perceptive Online Brand Scout to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for meticulously monitoring online platforms and communities frequented by 15-year-old teens to identify nascent trends, popular brands, and shifts in consumer sentiment. Your insights will directly inform our clients’ product development, marketing strategies, and brand positioning, ensuring they resonate authentically with the youth demographic. Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat), forums, blogs, and other digital spaces relevant to 15-year-old teens.
- Identify and track emerging trends in fashion, music, technology, gaming, lifestyle, and other areas influencing youth culture.
- Analyze online conversations and user-generated content to gauge sentiment, brand perception, and unmet needs within the target demographic.
- Curate and synthesize compelling reports on findings, including data, observations, and actionable insights, for internal teams and external clients.
- Collaborate with market research analysts and strategists to contextualize trends and contribute to broader consumer intelligence initiatives.
- Stay abreast of new social media features, platforms, and digital communication methods relevant to the youth audience.
- Participate in team meetings to share discoveries and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all collected data and client information.
Required Skills
- Exceptional familiarity with and active participation on major social media platforms.
- Proven ability to identify subtle patterns and emerging trends from vast amounts of online content.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from qualitative data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise reporting.
- High level of autonomy and self-motivation, with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using internet research tools and social listening platforms (or a quick learner).
- Genuine interest in youth culture, teen consumer behavior, and digital trends.
